The psychotherapist cares about the human condition and the feelings that exist between people. Psychotherapy attends to the repeated patterns of behaviours in relationships that an individual forms and primarily to that part of the pattern for which that person has responsibility.

The therapeutic process challenges the clients thoughts and behaviour, that has been learned and evolved during his life, by working with limiting beliefs about himself (which reflects the view taken of him by important others in the past)

The therapist works with and encourages the client to take personal responsibility for their actions and reactions. Firstly, through the therapeutic relationship and then in relationships outside. Inviting the client to rewrite the restrictive and self-limiting

Utilising sustained care and support and through mutual endeavour, the therapist can offer a corrective emotional experience to his client. He can then begin to acquire the courage to change. The therapist and client will engage in explicit advance contracting to provide a contract of commitment. This agreement is necessary in order to protect privacy and confidentiality.
